Our breeding philosophy for producing an Ohio stakes horse is: "breed the best to the best that one can afford". Obviously, our philosophy parallels just about everyone else’s in the Thoroughbred business. However, we differ to a degree, in that we like to move a step closer to success by breeding to blood stock that is proven: Proven stallions, to proven mares and / or deep black type families. Thus, when we decided to stand our own stallions, our selection of stallions, owned by Mapleton Thoroughbred Farm, are proven stallions that have produced graded and multiple stake winners. We feel we have accomplished that goal with Mobil, Cowtown Cat, and Medal Count.
